Aurelius knew this night was coming, but that did not prepare him for the waves of emotions that were hitting him. Tonight, was the announcement of the engagement of his best friend and the love of his life. Seeing her on Castor’s arm with such a big smile made his gut wrench. She was absolutely stunning. Her hair was pulled back into a chignon with a few ringlets loose that were framing her face. Her ball gown was soft pink with swirls of gold throughout, the top half of her dress was snug against her body, showing off her gorgeous figure, and then flared out at the hips. When she looked his way, he felt his heart stop. He must have let out a strangled noise because one of the other members of the Royal Guard elbowed him in the side, quickly snapping himself out of it.
